The University Press, in line with the University Open Science Policy, promotes open access by publishing works of scientific relevance, high didactic value, and pertaining to the so-called third mission. Its goal is to enhance the attested quality of their content, including their formal quality, ensuring maximum visibility and the widest possible dissemination.
The University Press adheres to collaborations and projects dedicated to open access scholarly publishing, participating in surveys and exchange opportunities organized within the framework of the Italian network of University Presses, and European initiatives such as OPERAS, DIAMAS, PALOMERA, and CRAFT-OA, aimed at strengthening Diamond Open Access.
UniTrento has been publishing works since the 1980s, while the editorial activity formally began in 1992. Since then, over 4000 works have been published.
