A seminar cycle, promoted by the University’s Open Science Commission, which addresses the fundamental pillars of the Open Science movement. These topics are cross-disciplinary and serve as a reference for further specific sectoral insights.

The actions undertaken and the results achieved, the documents produced and the ongoing collaborations, thanks to the work of the Open Science Committee, are now presented in a unified manner on web pages directly accessible from the official website: these serve as a tool for internal and external dissemination, as well as a forum for discussion on the Institutional Repository, the University Press, Research Data and other areas of development that may be pursued.

The conference aims to investigate the interaction between the various legal instruments involved in the field of clinical data and research, and Open Science for health and clinical trial data. It addresses the subject from multiple perspectives, focusing on European Union laws, while employing a comparative approach and methodology that takes into account the complex regulatory framework.

This event, promoted by CIBIO, presents the results of the ERIC (Euregio Research Integrity Code) project, funded under the Euregio Mobility Fund call for proposals. The ERIC project involved approximately thirty students from Trento, Bolzano, and Innsbruck, who collaborated on drafting the Euregio Code for Research Integrity. This document formalizes and consolidates the ethical and professional values of responsible and proper conduct in scientific research.

The conference explores the theme of public access to cultural heritage from an interdisciplinary perspective.
The event is divided into two half-days: the first is dedicated to the launch of the book "Images of Cultural Heritage: A Shared Legacy?". The second half-day features a round-table discussion on "Cultural Heritage Management: Museums and Business Models".

As part of Open Access Week 2023 – an annual international initiative promoted by SPARC in conjunction with the Open Access Week Advisory Committee – the Open Science Commission and the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento, in collaboration with the Italian Association for the Promotion of Open Science (AISA), are organizing a discussion event on the relationships between open science, intellectual property, and research data.
 

This event, organized as part of the implementation of the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan - Action 13: Open Science as a Collective Priority, is dedicated to the infrastructure required to manage research data securely and ethically to ensure it is searchable and reusable. As an example of a successful infrastructure, the structure and work of the Swedish National Data Service (SND) will be presented, followed by a discussion on monitoring the development of Open Data.
 

The Working Group on Open Access to Scientific Literature, established within the Open Science Commission, is organizing an event to compare the experiences of several national universities regarding IRIS (Institutional Research Information System), the institutional archive for research registries. The meeting aims to highlight different models of management, interaction, and training, with the goal of identifying critical issues and best practices to support the pursuit of improved policies.

The Publishing Working Group, established within the Open Science Commission, is organizing an event to compare the scientific publishing models adopted by several national university institutions. The invited publishing houses will summarize their experiences and share them in an open meeting, featuring contributions from the editorial teams of various University publishing initiatives.

On the occasion of International Open Access Week 2022, the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento – as part of its strategic plan and in collaboration with the Italian Association for the Promotion of Open Science (AISA) – is organizing an international conference dedicated to the study of openness in scientific research data, with particular reference to biomedical data in the university sector.
