The conference focuses on cost transparency in academic publishing, research data management, and the evolving role of AI in legislation.
Renowned speakers will discuss strategies for enhancing research reproducibility and building reliable monitoring systems for open science.

The study day marks the conclusion of the DAMEIP project (Data and Metadata for Implementing Peer Review), coordinated by Rossana Morriello (SAGAS Department) and carried out in collaboration with the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the University of Florence. The presentation of the project’s results forms part of a wider programme which, taking peer review as its starting point, will explore key issues such as the impact of artificial intelligence on scientific communication.

The event stems from the need to explore the transformations affecting the European research system and to reflect on the challenges posed by the new framework set out in the European Research Area Act (ERA ACT). The discussion will focus on the themes of Open Science, strategic autonomy and the sovereignty of knowledge infrastructures. The event will be held in a hybrid format (in-person or online). A research infrastructure is a multifaceted entity located at the intersection of different social worlds. It is the ground where people with diverse profiles – from research, publishing, engineering, and politics – meet to cooperate despite their varying perspectives. Based on the values of inclusion, academia-led governance, and community interaction, participants will discuss how research infrastructures can address the systemic challenges of the humanities.

The 5th meeting of the Italian Data Stewards Community (CIDS) in presence will be held in Turin on 27-28 November 2025. The theme of the meeting is: "A Network of Networks"; a comparison with other professional communities, networks, and associations that interact with data stewards, aimed at understanding how best to collaborate.
